Jeffrey Earnhardt is set to make his first start this weekend in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at the famed Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières.

Earnhardt, the grandson of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr., will be one of two entries from the Go FAS Racing Canada team. Alex Labbe, one of the rising stars in NASCAR’s Canadian series will also be entered in the event.

Earnhardt’s No. 32 Go FAS Racing team in the Sprint Cup Series is sponsored by BRP and its Can-Am brand. BRP recently obtained title sponsorship of this weekend’s race on the street course of Trois-Rivières, Quebec.

“The reputation of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières is well established as a place where drivers can hone their road course driving skills,” Earnhardt said in a statement. “I am really proud that Can-Am allows me to improve my skills on this renowned urban circuit, and to add my name to the list of my Sprint Cup colleagues Paul Menard, Casey Mears, Danica Patrick and A.J. Allmendinger.

“These drivers all developed through passages in the streets of Trois-Rivières.”

Earnhardt, 27, has competed in 10 Cup series races this season with Go FAS Racing. His best finish came in his most recent race, a 28th-place finish in the July 9 race at Kentucky Speedway.
