Top 25 for Earnhardt in Vegas

Mooresville, NC – Jeffrey Earnhardt turned his luck around last week during the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  After late race trouble in Indy, Earnhardt brought the number 96 Xtreme Concepts Toyota Camry to a 25th place finish in the desert like conditions of Vegas.  “We had some tough situations the past two weeks so while 25th isn’t our target, it was nice to finish the race clean and move on to Richmond on a positive note” said Earnhardt.  “Each race it seems like we’re gaining so much momentum.  Not necessarily in the finishes but in the synergy within the team and the learning of what we need to do to be better the following race.  I have gained so much confidence since coming to the 96 and Toyota has been a game changer for me.  I’m getting simulator time, learning a lot about the engineering and technical side of the cars and really just having the best experience I’ve had since entering the sport.”

Jeffrey and Gaunt Brothers Racing move on to Richmond Raceway for race two of the Monster Energy NACAR Cup Series playoff.  The short format of a two day program culminates in a night race that Earnhardt is more than excited about.  “I love Richmond.  You never know what the weather is going to do to track conditions and the pace is high adrenaline.  You saw in Vegas how hard guys are running and it gives the smaller teams an opportunity to be competitive.  I know our team is excited to get back out there and I’m looking forward to some small track racing” commented Jeffrey.  This will be Earnhardts first trip to Richmond during the 2018 season.
