Next Up for Earnhardt : Charlotte Truck Race

Talladega, AL – Talladega has always been known as Earnhardt Country and the legendary NASCAR tracks campgrounds and infield certainly served as a reminder that the family legacy is as loved today as it was when the Intimidator dominated this southern jewel.  “I feel like I’m home when I come to Dega” commented 4th generation racer Jeffrey Earnhardt.  “The fans that come to Talladega have become personal friends and the support is amazing.  I feed off the energy and always know we have tens of thousands of people pulling for an Earnhardt victory when we come here.”

The Spring Talladega race was Earnhardt’s second competition of the 2024 season after posting a top 10 finish in Atlanta.  “I’m thrilled to be back at Sam Hunt Racing and driving a Toyota” said Jeffrey.  “This season I feel like every time I get in a car we have a chance to win.  We finished 8th in Atlanta and this team is ready for wins.”

Dega started with the 26 car having to carve its way to the front after starting from the rear of the pack but in typical Earnhardt fashion,  it wasn’t long before the ForeverLawn Black & Green Grass Machine was running near the front.  “‘I always have confidence I can navigate to the front here so once we got a few laps under our belts I chose my spots and got to the front.  I started to sense something was happening with the motor and then I felt a change and knew it was a wrap.”
After climbing as high as top 5 the motor blew and Earnhardt had to take the car to the garage.

“It was disappointing for sure but even in that moment I was still pleased to be where we are with the team, manufacturer and future prospects.  I’ve never been more sure that I am where I belong.  We’re getting more races this season and if things go as planned we’ll be racing full time in a Toyota in 2025 and I think we’ll be gunning for a championship.”

Earnhardt’s next race is a return to the Craftsman Truck Series on Memorial Day weekend.
