Earnhardt To Compete in Euro NASCAR This Weekend

Brands Hatch, United Kingdom – Jeffrey Earnhardt crossed the pond this week to compete in Euro NASCAR’s American Speedfest III. “It was an invitation I couldn’t resist” said a smiling Jeffrey. “I’ve never been to the UK and getting the chance to come here and compete at Brands Hatch was such a cool opportunity it took me less than a second to start packing my bags.” Jeffrey will be driving the #55 car like he does at Viva Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Whelen title sponsorship adorning the car. Simpson and Fronius USA will be major sponsors for Jeffrey’s first Euro NASCAR effort with the green flag dropping on Saturday during the showcase event.

Jerome Galpin, President/CEO of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series commented: “We are very happy to have Jeffrey racing with us at Brands Hatch. The Earnhardt family is one of the most famous in motorsport and it demonstrates once again, the close relationship between European and American NASCAR series. More and more drivers are crossing the ocean. Euro drivers to race in NASCAR in the USA and US drivers to join the Euro-NASCAR pack which is fast becoming one of the premier series in Europe. English fans will have a great opportunity to attend a unique event- we are ready to roar!”

Dave Willey, Brands Hatch Motorsport Events Manager added: “The Earnhardt name resonates not just with NASCAR fans, but all of us who are involved with motor racing across the globe. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Jeffrey and hope to see him competing at the sharp end at American Speedfest III and put on a great show for the fans on the Indy circuit.”

Earnhardt is enjoying his first day with BBC interviews and a number of meet & greets with fans from across the Atlantic. “Day one has been outstanding and I’m really getting excited for this weekend. It’s a new experience and I can’t thank Jerome and his team enough for their hospitality. Motorsports are so popular in the UK and Euro NASCAR is getting a lot of fan growth. I’m totally pumped to compete hard and help make this weekend a great show” said Jeffrey. “Thanks to Simpson, Fronius and Viva for their support and we’ll keep the fans back home posted on our UK adventure.”
